Help ID the East Area Rapist / Original Night Stalker/ Golden State Killer

If you are a longtime California resident who has lived in Sacramento County, Santa Barbara County, or Orange County during the 1970’s or 1980’s, then this article is especially directed at you. We need your help in identifying a maniac. This article is a checklist of sorts produced to spread awareness and help identify California’s worst serial predator, a man that raped at least 50 women, and is responsible for at least 12 murders.

Tomorrow June 18th, 2017 marks the 41st anniversary since a serial rapist known as the ‘East Area Rapist’ started attacking women, and couples in Rancho Cordova in Sacramento County. In the coming months, he attacked in other areas of Sacramento County, primarily in the Eastern part of the county including Rancho Cordova, Sacramento, Citrus Heights, and Carmichael. By 1978, this serial rapist moved on to other counties in northern California and attacked steadily until July, 1979 piling up 50 vicious rapes.

The Golden State Killer panel at Crimecon June 2017

 

Just got back from the Golden State Killer panel at Crimecon in Indianapolis and it was awesome! I have been away for several days prepping for Crimecon and taking part in our presentation about the Golden State Killer.

I was very happy to assist in any way I could to bring attention to this case. A full report is coming soon about my time there and Crimecon itself. In the meantime, I am sharing some photos and memories from this past weekend, along with video of the panel which included, Golden State Killer surviving victim, Jane Carson-Sandler, Debbi Domingo, daughter of murder victim, Cheri Domingo, Michelle Cruz, sister of murder victim, Janelle Cruz, and myself.
